Default Airport lounge access credit card?

Hello-

I’m a pilot with a major airline who spends a lot of time in an airport due to communiting. I’m looking at the following 2 credit cards wondering what everybody prefers?

Chase Sapphire Reserve® ...
The Platinum Card® from American Express. ...

I’m aware that I have to cover up my uniform when entering. I mostly fly to the larger domestic airports.

I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve and I cannot recommend it enough. Great credit card with lots of perks and Priority Pass access is a huge perk for myself as a commuter.

Be aware that AA will require a same-day boarding pass to enter the clubs beginning late next year.

I have the CSR and used the Priority Pass lounge access several times on our last vacation. The perks are definitely worth the annual fee if you use them.

In fact, I saw a BA flight attendant walk in to one with full uniform on and they didn't bat an eyelid. They asked him if he was traveling as a passenger to which he replied yes and they let him in upon presentation of his boarding pass. I wouldn't try that myself but I've been in a couple times as a non-rev and just removed any crew identifying markers. No issues at all.

I actually just applied for the SPG American Express Luxury card. Same annual fee as CSR, and it seems to have all the same benefits of the CSR, plus it adds gold elite status to your Marriott Rewards/SPG account, which I use frequently. I have heard that the Platinum Card from Amex has better club access, so if that is your priority, you might want to go with that for the extra $100 annual fee.

The AMEX plat is great.

1. Centurion club access (DFW/LGA/SFO/LAS/MIA/IAH)
2. $200 travel credit
3. Delta club access (with a Delta boarding pass)
4. Priority pass membership
5. Global Entry fee paid
6. Hilton Gold
7. Fine Hotels & Resorts
8. $200 annual Uber credit
9. Free Boingo WI-FI

it is $550 per year or free if you are active duty military

Agree, have had the card for years, pretty satisfied with it.
