Default Realtor side gig?

Just curious if any of you do real estate on the side?

My wife is going into real estate(changing careers from banking) and thinking of going into the business together with her as a team. Initially to do the regular work of representing buyers and sellers and eventually evolve into maybe investing in it. Just seems to be the perfect side gig without really any supervision or set hours, so for someone like me at the majors could be a good balance done at home and remotely(documents, talking to clients).

How do you balance work and real estate on the side? Issues balancing your schedule with clients? Has it been financially worth the investment? Over the years I have a pretty good handle on the ins and outs just never executed the process. Did you find it hard finding a broker to take you under their wing?

Thanks all!

Default yeah

One thing I was taught early on is that every pilot needs a side hussle. I've been running an online business for 10 years and I'm also starting to get into real estate by doing a crashpad (www.dfwcrashpads.com).

It really helps that you've got a wife to support you on whatever you decide to do. Not sure where you're at in your career, but you're likely not working every day. So, answer phones, return texts, get on the same calendar has her. You're really going to have to communicate and work together (which can be stressful on a marriage).

I say go for it, but don't expect it to take off overnight. You'll have a lot of competition since a bunch of people got into the real estate game with the skyrocketing prices of homes the past year. Some say we're due for a correction. Either way, treat it like a business and approach it like you're going to be a realtor for 20 years. Do the long game.
