Continuing study plus paying bills
 

Good afternoon,
If you are reading plus replying - thank you in advance and I personally appreciate your reply, I think the answer to the question that I am looking for is mostly for the person who already became Pilot, and they are doing continuous growth in their workplace because of their hard work and determination.

1)if you became Pilot for 2-10 years now, what you would do better for managing the money for schools / colleges/ Any aviation program - if you knew earlier. (Sorry English is my 2nd language so if you do not understand I will or I can write or explain more).

2)What are the best advice you prefer to give your family member for example if your own brother / son/ or any family member wants to become pilot but He or she has to manage his or her Schooling costs or bills?

3)Any other advice that you might think, that would be beneficial.

Every Morning 2Cs - CHOICE AND CHOOSE - you can decide how the day, or your life will be, also this 2Cs might have the combination of DFP- Discipline, Focus, Patience.

This is for USA, other countries often have very different training and career progression systems...

Assume you need a four-year college degree... that may not be as critical for the next few years but someday it will be again, and you don't want to get caught without one when you really need it.

University aviation program: Get your degree and flight ratings, plus most or all hours toward R-ATP mins. Straightforward, but typically very expensive.

Alternatively, go to a lower cost state university, and do flight training on the side at a local school. This will typically be lowest cost but requires you to take some responsibility for your own training progress.

Also possible to do flight training first, get a regional job and then acquire a degree via a distance learning program

For non-university flight schools, there are two kinds
1) Large career-oriented schools.
2) Smaller local schools.

Both have their own risks, advantages, and disadvantages. It's also possible to train at an FBO or flying club using a good local contract instructor. This probably provides lowest cost and max flexibility, but you definitely have to manage your own training.

Graduate from college, get as many ratings as possible at a local flight school while attending college. Try to get a flying slot in the Air National Guard or USAF reserve. Do your initial training and active duty, then get a job at a regional airline as soon as eligible. Progress both civilian and military careers in parallel. You can resign from the military after you get established at a major airline once your ten-year obligation is up (if desired).
