Default Good pilot tax accountant?

Anybody recommend a real savvy tax accountant who does lots of business for pilots? Doesnt matter where he/she is located. Thanks!

I have one that does a great job! I live in a "pilot ghetto" area, so she doesn't really advertise to pilots, she just has many clients who happen to be pilots. She's very familar with all the "standard" pilot write-offs and then some.

I've used her for several years & have been VERY happy with the results (as in NEVER a peep from the IRS). Always get a refund that's WAY better than I could have gotten with turbo tax at rates that make any pilot happy!

PM & I'll send you her info.

Default Tax Guy

Just saw your post. If you need a tax guy still, let me know, I've been using one for about 7 years now. I always get a refund and others I've refered to him have been REALLY happy with their refunds.

Zach,

Ask around the crew room. I know there are a couple in the STL area that are familiar with the pilot stuff because of TWA.

Your goal isn't refund maximization, it's tax minimization. Those aren't the same thing. Getting a bigger refund doesn't necessarily mean you have a good tax preparer... it means you paid too much over the year.

I highly recommend:

Airman Tax : Flight Crew Income Tax Preparation and Financial Services for Pilots, Flight Attendants and Aviation Professionals

JetBlue pilot runs the business, does a fantastic job.
