There are lots of good network marketing opportunities available. Many people join network marketing companies in this type of economic slowdown as home based businesses offer some tax advantages, low start up costs and can be worked part time of full time depending on one's schedule.
Everyone on this board is smart and intelligent so just do your due diligence and research to get you questions answered. I did and it's helped me create a good income that has grown and is actually quite fun as well as rewarding.
It's not for everyone but if you treat it like a business and not a hobby, success can be achieved.

My wife has joined a very reputable direct sales / multi-level marketing company and is doing very well (i.e. replaced her full time job income).

I was skeptical at first (thats the nature of a pilot) but she went forward with it anyways, and I was glad I was wrong and she was right. There really are good companies out there, if you look beyond how some of these airlines are run. Working for a corporation / someone else doesn't always have to be the career path; she has found that working for herself around her own schedule is much more rewarding.

Her company received the "Rising Star Award" with the Direct Sales Association, which is essentially the watchdog in the industry for ethics, etc. DSA Awards | DSA

For anyone else that is curious / interested in the possibilities with direct sales, shoot me a PM.

Is there anyway to work as an part time A&P? Like doing prebuy inspections, or Annual Inspections. I'd like to have a backup skill, even better if it was aviation related

Even though the current economic environment is struggling, there are opportunities to make an additional income. It just means that one has to look much harder. I have been on this quest for several months and I have yet to find my niche. But I am confident that an opportunity will present itself. To date I have thought about:

1) Low cost franchise
2) Book Writing
3) Day Trading
4) Construction
5) Landscaping
6) Taxi/Limo Driver
7) Car Sales
8) Real Estate Sales
9) Among Others

In life one has to diversify risk. I for one believe in risk minimization. If God forbid I am no longer able to fly, a fall back onto one of the above ventures would help alleviate the loss.

Keep the ideas coming!

Depending on your income. If you don't earn much anyway and you are looking because you need income, then try Costco. Several hundred per week part time. I can ask next time I am there and pass on what I find through a PM if you want.
