Default Great News from the Real Economy

In a somewhat sad and shocking slap of reality to the face of our 'recovery' and 'freedom-based-debt-holdings', today's press-release-of-the-day (since we still haven't heard from BATS) goes to Sturm, Ruger (the 4th largest gun-maker in the US) who after receiving orders for over one million units in Q1 has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

Forget PCLN, CRM, NFLX, here's where the real action is!

RGR is up a whopping 571% from Nov 07 while the S&P 500 is down 3%...

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. Reports Strong First Quarter Bookings

March 21, 2012

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR), announced today that for the first quarter 2012, the Company has received orders for more than one million units. Therefore, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

Chief Executive Officer Michael O. Fifer made the following comments:

The Company's Retailer Programs that were offered from January 1, 2012 through February 29, 2012 were very successful and generated significant orders from retailers to independent wholesale distributors for Ruger firearms.

Year-to-date, the independent wholesale distributors placed orders with the Company for more than one million Ruger firearms.

Despite the Company's continuing successful efforts to increase production rates, the incoming order rate exceeds our capacity to rapidly fulfill these orders. Consequently, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

The Company expects to resume the normal acceptance of orders by the end of May 2012.

The Company will announce its results and file its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the first quarter of 2012 on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, after the close of the stock market.

Yeah, great news. More guns for "block watch Captains" to shoot innocent kids with.

I always find it sad that some of us can't tell the difference between politics and economics. One is real and one is a fable, it doesn't take much to see the line between reality and fantasy, but about half of us can't make that jump.

Butterknife: A tool with a single very dull edge with no point and little utility.

No but I can tell the difference between responsible gun ownership and cowboy block watch Captains and Claytonista FFDOs who are just itching to pull the trigger on someone while screaming "Federal Officer."

How wonderful for you, your ability to predict future outcomes is amazing.
As near as I can tell, it is governments who have shown themselves to have both itchy trigger fingers and a willingness to throw people into ovens or "camps".

If you want to show us crimes, you need to admit reality first. The numbers speak for themselves. Always have, always will. 100 million dead don't lie.

Telling a big lie will never change the reality. The big lie is handy, but it is no match for actual history, and we can all see the numbers that make the actual history. Why not admit the reality? Butterknife.

Why don't you move to a country where firearms are illegal instead of trying to change this country? Is it because the crime rates in those countries are higher than they are here?

Why boast about the homicide rate in the United States? It's higher than any country in western Europe. It's higher than in Canada, Austrailia and Japan.

Yea, Africa, South and Central America... "those" countries are even worse. But really? The homicide rate in the United States is something to brag about?

And no, it doesn't mean I want to move away from my country. But call it like it is. The rate of homicide in the United States is unacceptable.

Those areas where homicide rates are high are places like Chicago, DC, and New York where owning a gun legally is almost impossible. I don't know if every state lists their crime stats, but in Texas they do. They have break downs of all crime ranging from petty theft to rape and murder by gender, age, and ethnicity. People that have a concealed handgun license commit less than 1/10th of 1% of all crimes in the state of Texas. I'm sure those stats are going to be the same throughout the country. The counties in Texas that have the highest percentage of their population that have a CHL have the lowest crime rates, and the counties with the lowest percentage of CHL holders have the highest crime rates. But, if you are a part of the anti gun side facts like these don't seem to matter to you.
