Thanks for your post, even though the "advice" is no more substantive than all others already posted. The purpose of these forums is a healthy exchange of help and ideas. There are the usual posers, trolls, idiots and morons here, but for the most part, people genuinely want to help.

If you have something positive to contribute, I hope you do so. We are here to learn from each other.

I've never gotten warm fuzzy feelings from "licensed" financial advisors. They're always trying to sell me something that has very little to do with my goals. I'm sure it has a lot to do with their goals, though.

I've biased very heavily towards my 401K and Profit Sharing accounts because these are pretty much hands-off automatic. I just manage which vehicles the money goes into (each account has 10 different fund-based investments), based on company provided advice. I rebalance it every now and then. It's done pretty well for me.

I've weened myself almost completely off anything that a financial advisor ever got me into. Or it just evaporated all by itself - funny how that happens.

No offense intended ExDelta, maybe you do things differently. I guess I've just been burned a few times.
