The major drag to the CC schedules is that you don’t know what days off you will have until the 15th of the month prior. You also bid for those via a PLCS system that is a complete train wreck.

While in training, you are placed on the 72 day schedule and then you are placed on a schedule following the next bid which is seniority driven. Bids occur three times a year. Only one of the three each year is a “flush” bid where you can be driven off your desired (or not-so-desired but awarded) schedule or 7-7 start day by a more senior pilot.

Clear as mud?

It’s a retarded system but I expected nothing less from my company and my negotiating committee.

With the CC schedules, such as the 76 day, is there a min day off in a row? If you’re junior will you expect to only be home for a day or two at a time?

I’ve never been on any schedule other than the 7-7 so I can’t be certain of all the nuances of the CC schedules. My understanding, however, is that 3 days off is the minimum between tours.

Complicated doesn’t begin to cover all the little details of the CC schedules. Frankly, they make my head hurt which is one of the reasons I stick with 7-7. I like the Easy button.

Well that sounds a bit more involved than I thought, with the 7/7 what day do you start on?

The company limits what days of the week are available as a start date for the 7-7 schedules. That varies by fleet size. Some fleets have all 7 days available while others might only offer 5. My start days have varied from Wednesday to Tuesday to Thursday and then back again. The summer flush bid has bumped me more than once, not only from a desired day but even onto the opposite week.

They only need a quarter of a pilot to replace MH. Ain’t tough to replace 90 flight hours a year...LOL

Seniority doesn't factor into the minimum days off. If you have a trip of up to 6 days, you'll get at least 3 days off after the trip. After a 7-day trip, 4 days off minimum. After an 8-day trip, 5 days off minimum.

What could a first year FO expect to make first year with all bonuses included on the 7/7 schedule? Are the pay rates on APC reasonably accurate?

Fixnem2Flyinem 09-19-2018 02:16 PM

If there are any NJ pilots that could PM me there number so I could ask a few questions and get a feel for the company. It is hard to gauge by reading the forums. I don’t really know any pilots at NJ so just looking for info such as benefits, pay, upgrade times, qol and Schedules

About 70k, 2 months on the CC72 for training followed by 10 months on the 7/7, not including insurance or per diem.
