Not one cent was left then, and the company wanted to give no money increases until the schemed up the IBI on their terms.

We may be dealing with the "maybes" for a while but a half hour of sim time during the hiring process just might get rid of the "definitely nots". Especially if these are slots for planes that might be desirable to current FOs who could make it through and should be bid on, it would be a shame to waste the slots on new hires that lack ability.

Not much different than the failure rate of Lat initials from long time NJA employees. At one point it was a 50% washout rate according to somebody in the know. Phenom was similar. You spend long enough in an old airplane, the technology jump is very challenging.

I don't understand the consternation.

NetJets is competing with Regionals for pilots.
it isn't a surprise that Netjets will be faced with the same training, performance, and retention problems that Regionals have been dealing with.

Regionals have training programs that were designed to be able to take a 250 hour pilot and bring them to 121 standards.
Netjets is trying to add a type to an existing ATP.

For years NJA has maintained a 2500TT minimum and really it was more like 6K+ to be competitive. Those candidates (6k+) are virtually gone and will only return with significant improvement to work rules and compensation.

Regionals thought the quality of applicant would increase after a short hiccup in a lack of applicants. That was 5 years ago and it has only gotten worse. NJA will be offering an ATP program and doing 100 hour IOEs by 2020 for sure, no doubt in my mind.

Now that the company has the 12.1 hour rule, why do they need to hire more when there will be less fatigues? ::roll eyes here::

I think this is correct, they had a 10% washout rate in training in my class, but all but a few guys needed "extra" training. The amount of stuff they are putting into 7 sims is insane with some maneuvers performed on sim one are not seen again till the type ride. Classes are filled at about 50% of what they say they want. All the guys with no glass time washed out in training. But with SWA hiring our guys at record rates I think they have no choice but to go low and see if the no glass time guys can perform in the sim during the interview.

Yea, I mean it is what it is, but NJA is draining the same pond as the regionals because they are comparible jobs at the moment. You’re gonna get the same skill level and same issues in training.

How is the training process at NJA? Is NJA AQP?

I have an interview coming up, not too concerned about the sim during the interview because hopefully by now I can display a decent set of flying skills, if not I don’t deserve the job imo.
