All I know is, after the hump job scheduling dropped on us this tour and the absolute goat rope today, I can't wait to quit this friggin job. Problem is, I'm in that demographic no-man's-land that is too old to leave for an airline and too young to retire. For the LIFE of me, I don't get these 70+ fossils that continue to put up with this crap and refuse to pull the plug. Truly mind-boggling.
Keep selling your balloons and ponies John. Someday, somebody might believe you.

Oh, and the August attrition list shows NJA hired more than it lost. Another hole in your theory.
In the midst of the largest pilot shortage ever and you can’t quit NJA (cause you admittedly don’t like it)... you must be hard to hire or NJA is THAT good you can’t replace what it offers.
I can’t imagine hating a place I worked so much yet begrudgingly having to feel somewhat thankful every two weeks when the deposit is made flawlessly into checking.
Even on 7n7, that’s half of your life being spent hating. 😔

Did you apply to the majors and legacy carriers? SWA, NK, B6, Frontier, Allegiant, are hiring plenty guys from Fractionals. Yes much less money the first year but after that you’re golden and will get the little flying-all-time-home life you’re seeking where scheduling doesn’t try to throw curved balls at you (because that only exists at NJA of course). You need to apply before knowing if you hire-able or not.
I never understand people who hate a place so much their lives on the job is miserable, but don’t leave and find all excuses not to leave.
But why don’t you explain what is the “goat rope” of a schedule you got assigned ?
I’m on my airline 3.5-hours airport appréciation sit at PHL food court and will have a nice LGA 2.7 food court appreciation sit tomorrow, so got time to play on forums.

His windows has pretty much closed. Like he said, too old to make a move and too young to retire. He not only is a very professional pilot, extremely qualified, he is a very good dude who if 10 years younger would have no problem getting hired by the Legacies. He actually liked a lot working for NJI, but has clearly seen the complete degradation in every way with the integration. Unfortunately for him, NJI was a once in a lifetime type job, lots of perks and personal relationships, it all came to a screeching halt with the integration.

Sometimes when I read these threads I wonder if I fly for a different company, I’m an FO on the XL who genuinely enjoys the job, who flies with guys and girls who for the most part feel the same, I’ve flown 121 and I groove on that too, this is not me comparing us with the airlines, apples, and oranges anyway. But the misery, and the hatred, of some of these posters blows me away, please listen to everyone saying leave, if you are that desperately unhappy nothing good can come of you staying here. God bless, and cheers, I hope you make the right choice for your emotional, and physical health. It’s probably not as late as you think.

121 wasn't for you as in you traded in a regional for frac I assume. Not a very good comparison, but if you're happy thats all that matters.

Why not a good comparison? A 121 is a 121 no? regional or not, and as off today there are about 20,600 regional pilots, pretty good representation of the 121 world and life in my opinion.

Having flown all three (regional, NJ and major) its actually a horrible comparison. Have you flown all three to back up your statement?

Money wise, we have to compare Apples to Apples. Let’s say I was willing to work CC72 (18 days a month), base is $204k. Add about 20 hours of FDP per month (realistically), that’s $2,300 extra, $1,500 in straight pay, rest to 401k. That’s $17k + $1.5, so $18k/month. I currently work about 10 days in a 28 day bid period. If I worked the equivalent, say 16 days (in 28), I would break 100 hours credit by day 14-15, at $186/hr, you see where I am going with this. Plus my days are almost always 2 legs, almost never more than 10 hours duty. And this is only at 2nd year pay as an FO 😱. Upgrade running about 6-7 years, you throw in $320/hr and then it becomes stupid comparison.
So for the Johns out there, yes, you can definitely make money at NJ, but you most definitely have to work it and earn it.
