You will be sent out early 5-8am on day 1 and they may have you back at your base between 6-9pm on day 7. You will also work normally 12 hours a day. If you need more rest, you fatigue and can get 14 hours or more of rest. Just because you are based on the west coast doesn’t mean you stay there. You most likely will end up on the east coast on your last day. I was based in teterboro for years, NJA’s busiest airport, and my overnights at base were infrequent. Long story short, expect to leave your home before sunrise on day 1 and you will return home exhausted and beat up well after sunset on day 7. Take it from someone who quit this madness for the airlines.

Every once in a while you show day 1 in the afternoon and arrive home early afternoon on your last day.
About two times per year or so I get home a day early or show a day late. Those are nice surprises.
Usually though, you show early on day #1 and get home late on your last day. It depends where your base is.
The 7 on/7 off schedule is the default. The shortest trips tend to be 4-5 days long. I've found 7 days on the road is a long time to be away from the family...too long. And that's a problem because our most recent contract rewards longer tours.

Thanks for the replys. Then its exactly like my current 135 operation, first flight out last flight in. But we are out 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. I was just looking at NJ since the schedules seem more flexible and obviously more equipment. Pay is lower though at NJ....

Do NOT come to NJA for the pay or on the road QOL. Go for the base flexibility and the 800 dollars a year in hotel and airline miles lol.

At some NJA bases you can park at the FBO we use for free. That's the case in CLT. Other bases you may be able to get employee parking for cheap. I think (not sure) JAX is like that. And some bases the hotel NJA uses the most will give you a break on parking for the airport.
