Doesn't mean don't go to NJA, but if you are concerned with being at the bottom of the seniority list and vulnerable to furlough, for sure don't go to NJA.

Well, to state the obvious, nobody would care about not building padding below them in seniority if nobody furloughed. That is the entire point. People hired 6 years ago have less than 200 people below them still most likely (haven't seen a seniority list in a while). The measures to reduce fatigues and minimum crew staffing is going to reduce the need to hire regardless of the economy, and I am sure NJA is going to be conservative in starting classes again. Point is, those who are vulnerable to furlough will continue to be vulnerable.

Das Auto is correct in what he speaks. Class dates are being given to those who received the "you're hired" phone call last year. As far as I know everyone was frozen in place for the interview process, those that passed the phone interview will proceed forward to the Skype...and so on.

Then again, I’ve tried hard to eliminate the word “why” on a number of fronts since so many things these days defy rational explanation...

As a new hire at NetJets many years ago I was given the best advice from a senior PIC. "Remove the word why from your vocabulary." Everyday I continue to heed his advice.

You’re out of your mind if you think NJA will furlough. We are staffed right and there’s no way they could furlough under the current contract. We have a strong debt free aviation company. We didn’t take a dime of government money. We negotiated a company initiated contract agreement and gave bonuses. We are growing. Tell me one air carrier that can say the same thing to all of that.
I get it that NJA wasn’t for you. But honestly you weren’t here long enough to spew half the crap you talk about. It’s great that you landed at the dream airline pilot job...FOR YOU. Not everyone wants that. I personally love GA flying and was bored with airline pilot life. Not everything is about you and your very limited time at NJA. NJA is more financially strong now than it’s ever been.
I’ve seen this place..before you came here...as a rudderless ship. This place is firing on all cylinders now. Personally, I think it’s been that way since I think 2018.
