I was just wondering with all the contractual upgrades coming up if that creates a need to hire. Clearly, that is not the case. I have been waiting for my in person interview since last April. It’s clear now that until NetJets shrinks by @283 pilots, there is no need to hire.
Before Covid, they were hiring pretty steady. I guess priorities have shifted even though business is going well for them.
In my line of work (121 pilot), captains can’t fly right seat unless they are a check airman.

You must be new to this career. You can’t put all your hope into one place. That’s a sure way for disappointment. I’m glad you have an interview with the place you want to work, but there still is no guarantee you will get hired. Then what?
In this career, you need a plan A, B, and C. For many, plan A will never work out. I still wouldn’t lose all hope. All places go through hiring and non hiring waves. They will hire again. Hopefully soon. Also, those ten year upgrades will come down. It’s stagnant now, but there still are a ton of retirements at the top 121 ladder. That will have to create movement. If not, the whole airline industry is toast.

It’s my understanding that 2020 was the biggest sales year ever for marquis cards in the history of that product with NetJets. That product continues on an outstanding sales trend. Wealthy people tend to be some of the most frugal people. They wouldn’t just throw away $250K. So, there is going to be a certain percentage of conversion from marquis card member to fractional ownership. The current fleet and pilot population is going to be able to support that surge in marquis member travel and subsequent fractional ownership conversion??

For many it’s a complete mystery, but the whole reason I left my previous career and went to the regionals for a 70% pay cut was to qualify to apply at NetJets. It’s where I’ve always wanted to work since I saw the QS on the tails. So, now I’m in the right seat at a regional with a 10 year upgrade and no future. I’ve got a lot of soul searching to do.

Hang in there. Been in your seat before and know the feeling.
We’ll be hiring again, I hope by summertime. The 4.7 number is merely a number. I highly doubt we can cover the schedule that lean.

I have no reason to believe you would try to deceive me. All the info I get from others on this forum is the exact opposite.

Not trying to burst your bubble but it's good to have a backup plan. Maybe flex or Wheels Up. Having said that, I hope it works out for you. You obviously want to work there which will help you, if and when you go to Columbus.
Good luck.

I know its been said already, but if you pin all your hopes on getting hired at NetJets, you could be setting yourself up for a huge disappointment. They are very picky about who they hire. The fact that you made it to the in person interview is a good sign, but I know multiple solid candidates from my current company who didn't make the final cut.

If a good engineering opportunity comes along (my previous life), I may take it, but it has to be a pretty amazing opportunity. I just like flying too much.
