You can use the same service company uses to book flights and get the same discount. It may still cost more than the original plan company would send you home on, but all company discounts/agreements apply.

Thanks for the info JTF and Pervis🤙 That’s a great benefit to be able to use the same service the company does to book travel at a discounted price. I assume you can use this to book travel on your personal time/days off for vacations and what not? I am headed to CMH today for the expo this week and I am really looking forward it and hopefully a CJO🤞

I have used the service for non company related travel, including airfare and/or rental cars. Really makes a difference with one way rentals. Good luck with your interview. We need new and enthusiastic folks.

Suggestion to all. Even if offered to relax and take your jacket off, don’t. Two most important things are SAFETY and customer service. Be creative in making things happen when they go south, which happens. Never speak negative about your current or previous employers. Make everything positive. It’s not a stretch to say Netjets is the best, and a worthy goal to make a career of. As someone said here, it’s your job to lose at this point. Company is not going to blow cash brining anyone to CMH on their time and dime for questionable candidates. Disclaimer-these are my opinions only. They did serve me well though.

We had a pilot live in AK and commute to SEA on the 7/7. He made it work for his wife's career.

We also have access to our overseas ground travel while on private/personal travel. I've used it for my family and I while traveling. The cost wasn't that much, the tip for the driver is included and having safe, reliable ground travel in a foreign country was reassuring. They provide a constant update via email on your ground travel info (driver name, car info, pickup location, contact info).

The longest commute I came across was a dual citizen Captain I flew with who lived in a Ski Village in the Canadian Rockies. His wife was a photographer there. He drove a little over 4 hours to GEG and used the quickpass or whatever they called it to expedite crossing the border. I wonder what he had to do once COVID hit.

He moved to SJC well before that.

Anyone from NC that can help. I currently live 35 min from the GSO (Greensboro) base and 55 min from the RDU (Raleigh) base. Raleigh is busier with more airline travel. Would it be better to consider an Urdu base for a extra 20 min drive?

It depends if you want to "game" the system or not. I was CLT based and flew with RDU and FAY based pilots quite a bit. If you pick GSO, you'll probably get rental cars to RDU fairly often. The base with the lower level of airline service might give you an after midnight ($$$). One guy I flew with decided to change from RDU to FAY to increase his chance of an "after midnight" but what happened was he got tired of driving down to FAY, then taking a rental car back to RDU. Also look at airport parking. FBO's sometimes let us park there free, Wilson Air Center in CLT was like that. Since you can change bases every 7 days I think it is try both of them out.

Pilots who are based out of more remote airports, how often do you airline/drive to the plane? I would initially start out at Fargo or MSP for context.
