Those days are back. Sure they could go away and of course the industry will constrict with the economy, but anyone who has been hired by an airline in the last 5 years will have a long, trouble free career. Never been a better time to be a pilot than now. It's great because these companies now have to ante up to remain competitive which is good for everyone.

VAWD email the company put out this week cracks me up. Congratulations, we are giving you the opportunity to live to work. With the results of the VED survey, if we as a group don't collectively change our mindset, we are going to get steam rolled again in an IBI.

All planes. Sold out.
That should get us through the worst of the recession while you head back to reserve or the right seat.

Agreed! even if the economy tanks and half our orders drop out we will still be growing... Obviously anything can happen but I feel pretty comfortable about my future

All fleets sold out yet several fleets aren't flying enough to get their pilots any FDP, cool story! Covid already proved that the airlines are too big to fail. How did the last NJA furlough go? Oh yea, you were too busy picking up extended days while your co-workers were jobless and losing their homes.

Swing and a miss. Again.
That’s a nice breeze you make missing all the time. Or is it all the hot air coming from your direction?

Pilot Shortage: Do we really have one?
A good overnight on tour is 13-14 hours when you have time to eat and not have to go to bed right away. If you get two nights like that in a 7 day tour your lucky.
If there is a pilot shortage, why are we being run ragged every time we go out on tour? It's not 2010 with thousands getting furloughed.
This is the mythical pilot shortage that Kit Darby was promising years ago. Yet union leadership is saying now isn't the time. There is never going to be a better time. Why aren't we using that billboard? Why aren't we picketing?
If now isn't the time according to union leadership, maybe now is the time for different leadership.

Don't forget the blimp too....that thing was cool. I was there for it's inaugural flight at a Go Team Picket.
Oh how things have changed.
