A third issue for hiring 700 would be training 700 and all the dominoes that fall with the upgrades and other training churn associated with rapid growth. They have spooled up 2 or 3 other FSIs for training to NetJets footprint, but I can't imagine any FSI having much luck hiring and retaining enough instructors.

But I think they're counting on a major recession to fix that issue too.

FDP was the smartest thing NetJets could do. When I had to quit flying in spring 2017 the Mx Controllers probably threw a party and took my photo off their dartboard. Most of what I wrote up I would still have written up under FDP but I might have thought twice about it.

I hadn't even thought about FSI with all the pay raises going on at the Regionals. I bet they are having a tough time unless they've boosted pay quite a bit. Any Sim Instructor who can hold a medical could be a PIC making $150K+/yr at a regional. Of course all those raises just started in mid-June when AA's 3 WO kicked it off with the raise to $90/$150hr.

FDP was the smartest thing the company could do. It didn't fix scheduling practices nor make the day to day any easier but it did make everyone think twice about fatiguing or potentially writing something up. Sounds like it is too much of a variable fleet wise to be a good accurate measure of what somebody can expect pay wise now though.
I don't think NJA will have a problem getting pilots who have decided to give the company a try in hopes that it will be their career company. But for people like me, I went to NJA to avoid the regionals and the crap pay before going to a major. The days of crap regional pay are over for the foreseeable future. NJA is gonna have to come up with some incentives to steer those considering a regional or NJA. Hiring 700 almost sounds like a sick joke, NJA has never had the capacity to handle that kind of hiring.
I would imagine that anyone with half a brain will be able to see right through these regional pay rates to see that they are exactly that, just pay rates. Then again pilots are obsessed simply with hourly rates and seemingly nothing else lol.

The company is playing stall ball because I'm convinced they believe the bubble is about to pop. I'm not sure they're wrong. I'll say again that I think we have missed our window.
CBA improvements or not, there is NO WAY Netjets hires 700 next year. ZERO chance. Either because The Great Recession Part II implodes demand or huge pay increases at the majors and regionals drain the available talent pool completely.
