I’m curious. I left NJA because I didn’t like the IBB method or character of some of the union representatives, the culture and politics seemed incapable of change. At this time NJASAP was very popular.
Do pilots still feel that way today? Are NJA folks still happy with NJASAP and the IBB proces?

We need and deserve an IBB22. Everyone's hindsight is 20/20, but true gains are made when our foresight is 20/20. The union will tout how every contract and IBB has been an improvement. This is true. However, we are on par with regionals in compensation. New-hires are actually starting out making less than their regional friends. Regarding the accounts of people making 500K last year, ask them how many days off a month they averaged.

I am getting the sense that the group is starting to lean back towards aggressively dealing with management, but the latest survey results aren't out yet to verify this. Hopefully they will start doing more internet surveys and surveys overall if they see that a higher portion of the group is starting to want a new direction so that they don't sit and play nice well beyond the timeline that the majority has changed direction.

It seems like during the last six months, the union president is getting bute sore and going off on the mb. The e-board likes to tout the contractual gains we have made. Let's talk starting pay. We have gone from matching Great Lakes to being less than a lot of regionals (base pay).

With the regionals paying $90+ an hour ($80000-ish on minimum guarantee) is NJ due for a new contract anytime soon? Is base pay something that could/would be increased outside of a new contract? I get it with FDP etc you can well exceed that. Curious as I don’t work at NJ but am exploring the possibility.

Why would they raise base pay. They can throw some crumbs (FDP changes or some other garbage that they control) and a signing bonus and that crap will pass. Oh yea. And they will extend the contract. So we will never see a new contract. Rinse and repeat. Our pilot group is selfish and very predictable. The company always comes to us to fix the problems that THEY created and our Union executive board always falls for it.
