We use 2 Captains, 2 FOs, but I know most places use 1 Captain, 3 FOs. What does NetJets use?
NetJets runs very captain heavy in both Global fleets. The 5000/5500/6000 fleet is over 2 to one PIC to SIC and the 7500 fleet is so new and small so far that it is still 100 percent PIC. We can run 2 pilots out to 10 flight hours and 14 duty hours. We can run 10 to 12 flight hours with 3 pilots and up to 18 hours of duty. We can run up to 16 hours of flight time with 4 pilots and go to 20 hours of duty. The 6000s will rarely be scheduled over 13 hours and the 7500 is currently limited to 16, even though with the software upgrading to a Global 8000, it will be able to run closer to 18. Augmented never has more than 1 SIC and it isn't uncommon to have all PICs. I've done 16 flight hours in a 6000 with a fuel stop and 3/4 PICs. I was asleep for about 6 of those hours and at rest in the bunks for 8 total. It gets tight when swapping in and out, but it goes fast when you are sleeping.

So how’s it going to work with an airplane that can go 18, but a crew that can only do 16?

That was a problem on the first generation of long range airplanes at NJ. The airplane was capable of 14+ legs but, even with 3 pilots, the regs limited us to only 12 hours of flight time. Got to the point that we just re-positioned 2 pilot crews at a midway tech stop. Instead of doing Tokyo to Teterboro like the airplane was capable, we just did a swap in Anchorage.

Because of the regulations, the company will never be able to fully exploit the range of the Global 8000. It's just a marketing gimmick IMO.
