If you had a 12.5 hour midtour layover in PBI and lived 25 minutes from the airport - would you take the hotel and try to rest because you're exhausted or would you go home?

How many hours a year is realistic to expect at NJ in your first year on a 7/7 schedule? I know it'll vary some by plane type, but I'm looking for a rough idea.

My past 2 years as a Latitude FO have been in the 430-450 hour range. That’s with using 4 weeks vacation, all 12 days PTO, and no extended days except for a couple required to do the Europe flying. My tour averages are around 23-25 hours/tour so someone with less vacation would likely have a little more flight time.
Is the PTO basically sick time and how many days do you get? I’m assuming you’ve been there 10+ years based on your vacation. |

1) if you use PTO as sick time, you better be sick. They don’t look the other way with that. Posting pictures of yourself skydiving on social media while out sick will be discovered. 2) you can use PTO for days off, but you can get charged more than 1:1 for it under certain circumstances like on days designated as EPTO days, or short notice (under 72 hrs notice). 3) you can PTO, but never shorten your tour to less than 4 days unless you PTO the tour in its entirety. For example, you can’t turn a 5 day into a 3 day. 4) When you leave, burn it because you don’t get to sell it back. 5) when you fatigue, do the report or they take PTO away from you. Its easy to forget. 6) PTO can REALLY add time to your vacation so hang on to some for that purpose. |

It’s the same but different. You accrue PTO time, and it is “time off” and “sick time”. Here are the things about it:

7) Once you fill your "active bank" with sick/PTO days to 24 total (IF you fill it up), the extra "spill over" days can be directed to either your "long term bank" or cash in January.

That’s the thing. “IF” you fill it up. Its far more useful (to me anyway) to tie it in with a vacation or to “make a vacation” by dropping an entire tour.
