Default NetJets Interview Expo

I am at Columbus this week interviewing with NetJets this week.

Expo and face-to-face interview is Wednesday.

What should I expect from the Expo?

What should I be doing during that time to "work the room" and make a positive "we should hire this Aggie" impression?

AM88: If you are already in Columbus, the interview has started. It doesn’t matter if you’re walking the halls, having dinner, at the bar, chatting with hotel staff…it is all subject to “observation”. Act accordingly. Treat everyone with respect. Listen more than you talk.

For the sim eval, they will give you a few procedures/callouts. Learn them as best you can overnight, and use them in the sim. For the interviews…be real, not perfect.

Learn as much as you can at the expo, and ask lots of questions. Make d—n sure NetJets is where you want to be. It is NOT 121. Not the salary, schedule, QOL, or seniority benefits. Have fun…and good luck!

I’m curious as to the hiring profile they are looking for.

Attended expo a few months back and had a great experience and left feeling good. Ran into a current coworker there and neither myself, coworker, or sim buddy got an offer. Two other coworkers went to the expo last month and had the same positive experience but also got TBNT phone calls. The only commonality I can think of amongst us is age (40-45), and all work for the same company (except my sim buddy who works for Atlas). FWIW - At my expo there were a TON of younger folks there with wet ATP or Commercial with ATP mins who were either currently CFI’s or working for Plansense, Boutique, Cape Air, etc. I have no idea if they were offered a job, just pointing out that their demo seemed to be the majority.

Had what I thought was a great talk/interview on Zoom with the recruiter who was going to get back to me with some answers I had inquired about, including how could they have me home based at a field that doesn't have airline service. Perhaps I shouldn't have asked that, but not only didn't hear back with an answer, just got the TBNT. I'm 61.. You may be correct..

The contract lists the bases. No way around that one. You can’t be home based at a field without airline service because the contract defines what is an eligible base. The only way a base can meet eligibility is by having airline service.

Is the commonality also that all of you work for a 121 airline? Last I heard, if they even sniffed that y’all wanted to go back to 121 then it was a TBNT.

Makes sense that they are hiring the young guys already coming from that corporate type mentality. If they hire them young enough and maybe they feel they can mold them and convince them that NJA is a career destination for them. Who knows?

TEB, VNY, PDK, and CRQ are 4 HBAs without airline service.

Good point. I forgot about those exceptions. They are located around high frequency airline optioned cities though. I’m not sure what city the previous poster would be referring to.
