In hindsight other than saying "yes sir" I regret not asking about transportation, calling dispatch, etc. we just were not in that frame of mind and only thought it was just a script to get us to go to a different airport. Perhaps that's a kicker that keeps you from getting an offer.

I thought we were there just to see if we worked ok with others and could fly a plane and shoot an ILS... I would think it's understood all that stuff can be taught in Indoc.

At least I hope so!

By the way: I think that guy in the lobby was a South Pole Elf ;-)

I am sure if somebody doesn't ask about transportation during the sim diversion, it isn't going to make or break the sim. They are testing your ability to fly at that point as far as I can tell. The company I am with now currently is big on customer service, and NetJets places a huge emphasis on customer service. If you stop and think about the entire interview process, very little is about your abilities as a pilot and more dedicated to customer service and personality...

I don't have the inside scoop on anything, I had no internal recs or anything like that. But I can tell you that ground transportation and letting the company know about your diversion (if you have that ability) is an important aspect of 135, so NetJets would clearly appreciate that mindset.

I don't know how to say it exactly but I'm just saying that wether you did that on the interview sim ride or not would not show me wether you would or would not do that on the job. I mean that's just second nature on the line. The sim is really bad for "acting" out those scenarios in that context. Of course after today every single guy is going to get it right who may have all done the same thing before... So what good does that do as a test? I say it invalidates it

We also didn't put coffee and paper on the sim either... Did we lose points for that?? That's my argument I guess. To be fair I probably wouldn't be arguing this had I just brought it up in the sim. Would have been the easier way iut

I have an interview in a couple of weeks. All this info is very helpful and greatly appreciated. Please keep it coming.

Jetlife pretty much nailed it. Go with that for bow

Also you get zero feedback. You could roll the thing into the ground and the evaluator would just say "you'll hear something in the next two weeks. Good luck"

New hire

Hi guys and gals, well I interviewed a couple of weeks ago and got the call with a job offer today. I'm absolutely thrilled and looking forward to seeing all of you out there on the line. Good luck to everyone!

It was just a suggestion. If they wanted to see a diversion for piloting sake, ATC would have closed the airport we were going to and had you divert. The owner coming up and tapping you on the shoulder, telling you that he is an owner, and wants to go to a different airport, is "acting" and it was done for a reason in my opinion. I will say it again, it was just how I took the scenario, and it is something that I am used to as a 135 pax guy. Those who fly 121 would never think of something like that so it might get some brownie points if the person interviewing acknowledges the fact that the owner in the back is important.

I agree with you so don't think I'm trying to argue with you personally. I'm just thinking that of course we would do all of that wether we thought of it in that "environment" at the time. Flying the line is 100 times different than role playing in a sim. Especially when you are so wrapped up in flying a plane you've never seen before. Anyway... I liked you Jetlife. I hope you get the call :-)

Ditto! I hope everyone gets the call. It was great to meet you, and everyone else. NetJets would be lucky to have every single one of us in our interview group.
