Adios Netjets?

Had enough. Considering leaving Netjets after 16 years for JetBlue...

Anyone care to offer their opinion?

Would love to hear from any former NJA folks at JetBlue.

Thanks

I'll let you know in 30 years, but right now it's been the best choice I've made. I had 9 years at NJ before I made the jump to the majors.

Better trips, schedules, work rules, layovers, pay, and benefits. Oh, and all I need to do is fly.

The only thing I miss from NJ was most of the people. But that is it.

For what I'd guess is a large majority ( including myself), Netjets was a nice consolation prize for not making it to Legacy.... Way better than a regional and most 135's but no where near total package of a Legacy.

Showing up on time is about the hardest part of my current 121...

If you can live in base at JetBlue, I'd call it a no brainer.

It was never designed to be a stopping point! Guys just got stuck there and got lucky with the pay bump in 2006. You're better off with the big airlines!!

I'm 13 years at NJA with a CJO from Delta. I know long term it appears a no brainier, but running the numbers for the first few years is pretty sobering, especially as we may soon have new NJA CBA with a significant pay raise.

QOL, I know Delta wins hands-down over the weekly grind on NetJets' unsustainable pace.

I'm 41 with a kid two years from college and two more in trail. Live in MSP.

I'm very grateful to have a choice on the table. But it's a very significant decision, and aviation is a pretty volatile environment where good decisions can transform into bad ones overnight.

The only thing you'll miss from netjet is the health insurance. However, that should be fixed with the CBA.

This should be why you make the jump. I mean I got it, we all need to pay the bills and can't afford to do 20 days off per month for 15K per year, but you can't put a value on QOL.

I work at an airline where I make more money than I've ever made before and could quadruple my pay from last year (when I was an RJ FO).

But I want out, because I never have time at home to see family and friends. I feel like my life is passing me by as I watch from a cage because I'm always on the road. A wise man once told me, "money can't fix relationships. What does it matter if your wife divorces you and takes half of it anyways?"

Just my .02 as we've never met. Good Luck with your decision, I'd kill for a CJO at Delta.
