Haha, recorded music in a previous life and Bose is a premium product from a sound engineering perspective.

I think your just trying to justify the reduced price of your particular headset or other audio equipment. You saved a few bucks, good for you.

The two headsets both work well but they do differ regarding passive noise reduction. The Bose does reduce the noise levels to a greater degree. If you are going to use it for GA ever, I would go with the Bose, otherwise the DC is fine for jets.

It’s a trade off, the DC is lighter and slightly more comfortable for an eight hour day. That said....even in the jet, the Bose is quieter. At that point it’s a function of the other guys mic if your using an intercom. That’s where you get a lot of the white noise.
