commutair furlough

does anyone have anymore info than that delightful memo published on the co site?

Word at Commutair is the furlough is a negotiation tool. The furlough makes no sense due to an additional base opening in EWR this week. It was unexpected since the company stated they were "understaffed" last week. Ironically the furlough begins 10/27 and Union negotiation start 11/01. Not sure if the two are related. Hopefully the pilots will be able to keep their jobs.

I think understand, if what management says is true- the fact that we're not flying as much as we should be, and the fact that EWR base is opening open isnt bringing any additional hours per month. because of the outstation closures in the cleveland route structure, but i dont know whats true and whats not. i thought the company was doing well

it just sucks. i get domiciled in EWR one month and furloughed the next.
