Commutair Contract
I know there is a commutair thread already, but I think this deserves a new one.
Is there any update on contract negations? |
Are you really willing to give up your seniority number at Comair to go to CommutAir?
|
Seriously guys I hear things are really not good there. They don't have block or better and fly a lot in and out of EWR. My buddy told me the other day he was doing PHL-EWR and was on the aircraft almost 5 hours and got paid for less than an hour (at $21 an hour second year FO). I have a friend who's been there 3 years and still not upgraded, so there goes your quick upgrade argument. Seriously guys at what point is it no longer worth it? Six days on with one off at less than 20k a year? You could work full time at Mcdonalds and be home a lot more, not to mention make more money. Not hating on CommutAir guys they are a great group, just wondering how far some guys are willing to go for this job......

$21/22/23 for your first 3 years, No Block or Better, No pay for Deadheads and probably reserve in Newark doesn't sound very appealing to me. And yes, I know they voted in ALPA and working on a contract, blah blah blah just like every other bottom feeder that had quick upgrades and is now struggling with crappy pay and QOL because there is no movement. |
im not willing to sign the training contract

Do not come here
It is as bad as you have heard. worse.
|
wow, glad i got out....
|
Well of course it is bad there....you did not have a contract! Now, you just barely have one and I guarantee you the next one will be better...maybe not as good as Piedmont, ExpressJet, Eagle, etc... but it will definitely be better than your current "contract."

Epic Fail.. |
$12,000 training contract for two years on a Dash 8 at $23/hr for top pay?!
Talk about dooming yourself to a life of poverty. |
They have a training contract now? HAH! I scored 144 hrs of turbine off of them over 6 months and just got to walk when they tried to put me on historical block in EWR. That's just obscene, Quitting was the best feedback they could get and now they are taking that away? Loosers, I want them out of my city.

wait wait....there are people out there that are defending a training contract and the chance to make low 20's an hour in a large T.P.....
Am I wrong in thinking that there is something seriously wrong with this picture? Not just wrong like "Colgan and Republic are pure evil" wrong, but wrong like "i know this is a bad situation but its all i got" wrong. |
Also, has anyone ever considered how weird of a word wrong is? weird is also a very strange word...

Perhaps when you have a little more time you will realize how silly "scored 144 hrs of turbine time" sounds. But I will give you credit: at your pace, you would have flown 288 hours that year, I just can't seem to get under the 300 hour per year mark. "They go through the motions, repeat the power points as fast as they can and go home," recalled Zaite, who was hired with just 507 flight hours, 25 hours of it on multiengine aircraft like the twin turboprops at CommutAir. Inexperience shows up in the cockpit, said a CommutAir captain, who asked not to be identified because he feared repercussions for talking to the press. "It's very exhausting for me to monitor [co-pilots] because I have my own duties," he said. Methinks fo Zaite may have come to the game a little early. |

Yeah, you really scored. You are the expert after all that experience.
