Great Lakes Updates

Fun fact:
I was a Laker back when the regional industry was very different (1999). The “good” regionals, Eagle, Comair, SKYW, Air Wisconsin, ACA unofficially required turbine time or at a min part 135 Navajo type time to even get an interview (yes, as an FO!!)
The only places that would call a guy with only CFI time and 100 piston multi were Lakes and a few others (Scenic airlines in Las Vegas was one). I did 6 months and 500 hours at Lakes and then bailed for what turned out to be a piece of cake EMB 120 class at SKYW.
The regional industry definitely has changed since then!!

Plents of 135s out there. Southern Air Express, Mokulele...Get some more time and a dump like Sky Limo (Privera) will give you a SIC type in a BE40 and you can get the rest of your time that way. Plenty of options. I got my time in a myriad of ways. You can too.

What is the minimum pilot hours needed to fly 135 charter? I'm confused.

I'm not sure how it works at Mokulele and SouthernAir Express, I know you sit right seat and get some time. Dunno what their mins are but I am sure you can look it up. I know a few people who got their time at Mokulele or Southern and are at my regional as well as others. Take a look. Otherwise enjoy the traffic pattern and practice area for 18 months at a good school in FL

I think the non-profit AOPA will just provide training for pilots for the regionals, because it is impossible to get enough competent pilots and retain them for the smaller airlines. AOPA will get funding from the govt and people donating $ to them. this benefits all airlines.

Really? I’m wondering if you are a Chinese student... Certainly not American, your diction (manner of speaking or writing) says that about you.
