Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I've heard various proposals to start airline service in Alaska in the last 2 years, but I haven't heard even a whisper of anyone planning to revive the PenAir Certificate under the Pen Air name. Unless they've been completely silent about it (which would be pretty uncharacteristic for people trying to start Airlines) I'm skeptical that there will be a recruiting event for Pen Air in March of 2022.

I wonder how they feel about the NTSB finding the FAA’s authorizing the Saab 2000 to operate into the Dutch Harbor airport as one of the contributing factors to the probable cause of the accident. Specifically they said:
“the Federal Aviation Administration’s lack of consideration of the runway safety area dimensions at Unalaska Airport during the authorization process that allowed the Saab 2000 to operate at the airport.”
I wonder if that will give the FAA pause to authorize this for an operator again?

FLOAT bought the PenAir (NLA) operating certificate back in July 2020 when the also bought the Corvus(7H) certificate and six DASH-8-100's as part of the original Ravn Alaska bankruptcy. At that time no one bought the Saab 2000's. FLOAT resurrected Ravn Alaska under the Corvus(7H) certificate and has added one DASH-8-300 to specifically serve Dutch.
Kent Craford, President of Alaska Seaplanes, plans to start a company called Aleutian Airways operating under Sterling Airways(VC) certificate and use the ex-PenAir Saab 2000's. Sterling Airways is a 121 operation headquarter in Jacksonville, Florida which operated Embraer E145's and used be known as Via Airways.
