Can anyone speak to what it’s like transistioning between the NE and PR? My gf and I are both interested in moving out to CT area and take in that $5k bonus, and while I’m young and able flying the Caribbean sounds very fun. How long are pilots typically down in Puerto Rico? I know the company provides housing or $750 a month, do pilots typically sublease apartments back home to other TW guys or just absorb the cost? Like I said above, in the long term my goal be to work with recruiting or hiring, and be based in Dallas. If those two are not compatible, Dallas would be preferable.

Bouncing back and fourth I have seen two basic philosophies 1) Use either month by month leases or air BnB in the northeast and stay as long as possible in PR (least money spent on rent) 2) Just absorb the cost of keeping the place in the northeast. More money in rent but no need to find a new place and don’t need to find someplace to store your stuff. Personally I use the second method. Especially since if your in the company condos your paying no rent or utilities in PR.

Sims on April 16th, if I pass I'd be headed for the June 4th class date. Any tips for the simulators?

The sim is a simple desktop kind of deal. The approaches are going to be fairly simple. If you find your self getting frustrated just relax and remember to just fly the plane you'll do fine.

Good Luck on the interview!

Is TW currently in the market for part time street captains? I don’t have any time in a PC12 but I do have turboprop experience and time in the islands, I also call CT home.

As best to my knowledge Tradewind has not made anyone a street captain without prior PC12 captain time. However being a part time SIC (assuming you have 135 PIC IFR mins) is a good way to get to know the operation and the plane. The path to upgrade from there is usually pretty short.

Yeah, it's a discounted contract, the actual cost of training is a lot more than that.

I've never seen a training contract that actually reflects the value of the training. Most places it's a percent. The closest would probably be Cape Air at $30k
