JetLinx

Any JetLinx guys out there. I've been looking at them lately and I am curious about some information. I currently live at the base for which I am applying, so that makes it very convenient and attractive.

Whats it like working there?
How is the pay?
How is the schedule?
How many nights are you at home?
What does a typical duty day look like?

Really depends on the account. During the interview a good question to ask is "does this plane have a guarantee?" and if that guarantee is close to 200 hours, ask "do you have a 3rd pilot?"

How is the pay?

Dependent on the account. A year ago they were using something like 70k / 80k / 90k for mid-size. Lead Captain being at 90, and the third pilot at 70k.

How is the schedule?

They recently moved to 8 days off a month, however if the owner wants to fly, then that day off gets moved. This is part of the reason why I bailed. Every month I was telling my wife that our plans had to be cancelled because the owner needs the plane.

How many nights are you at home?

Account dependent.

What does a typical duty day look like?
They typically were not bad. I only had a few days that I flew more than 3 legs and were "long."

Answers are above.

What plane and base are you looking at? If its Dulles, shoot me a PM.

I'll second all these answers. Most pilots have one foot out the door after about 6 months just waiting on the one year contract to end.

Plenty of other opportunities

I have it on good authority that you'll be pressured to fly passengers without de-icing and with non-deferrable squawks. I have flown for 6 different 135 outfits over 20+ years and haven't had to put up with this. Aim higher.

"Aim higher."

Exactly. Feel free to PM me.
