10/10 schedule part 135/91
 

Hi all, this is my first post on the boards with a general scheduling question. I currently stand at close to 2000 hrs of TT of which most are through CFI'ng. I was also able to pick up few hours in Super King Air about six month ago in part 135 setting. Recently I was offered a job on Falcon 50EX with 10 on 10 off schedule. Company offers average salary for this A/C (considering I have no prior jet time), good benefits, and 1 year contract in return for PIC type. For those of you who have worked similar schedule, do you think this is a good deal? I was able to track some of company's aircraft and it seems like most of the flights end up in base on most flights. Some trips are 3-5 days long, however majority is 1-2 days with as much as 5 days without any movement in between, but again this will probably vary. Any thoughts, suggestions, advice?

Why not go to a regional that has a flow agreement?

What's the pay?

70 base. Home base is only 10 minutes from where I live.

I currently work a 7/7 and really enjoy it. I have a family and 2 young children. I love the fact that I cannot be touched on my days off and if I choose to work more, my days are added on as vacation time. Not sure about your current age, but it doesn't sound terrible. You can always jump from corporate to the airlines later. You'll love the 50. Great aircraft. Best of luck with whatever you choose-

Id say thats a pretty good deal given your qualifications. Keep in mind with an aircraft like that I doubt that you would actually be gone all 10 days of a rotation. Just "on call" at home during those 10 days when not flying. Like I said sounds like a good deal for someone in your shoes.

People on this site (just look at the name) are very much pro-airline...
Guess it comes down to your goals and what lifestyle you want.
If you like great hotels (you keep the points, NOT CRAPPY AIRPORT HOTELS, OFTEN RESORTS in my experience), rental cars (CREW SHUTTLE, hell no LOL), avoiding security lines, and generally being a bystander for "lifestyles of the rich and famous" then corporate flying tends to be pretty good....have about 5 years doing it...
But be careful, the business tends to be a bit more unstable than the airlines, and pay tends to lag a bit, but quality of life DOES tend (IMO) to be very nice. Me...I went airlines to cargo to corporate, and now back to cargo. It's what I like, but in all honesty corporate is a close second as long as you can handle ypur passenger with EXTREME CARE, a wrong word (simply by accident), about the prior trip to a client in the presence of a wife as opposed to their lover can cause a job loss, etc...unlike the airlines you are on the front lines, dealing with the customer on a regular basis, no buffer....
