MCO and S. FL bases are yet to open. They were announced and are planned but not yet operational. There is talk that it may not be MIA but a surrounding airport in S. FL area.

I would avoid this company right now if you aren’t a retired airline captain. FO’s are flying between 30-50 hours right now and there has been 0 talk of changing pay. So you will be stuck getting around 40 hours a month and if you’re under 1500 hours you will be making 170 a day. Which doesn’t sound too bad about a year ago when we were only doing day trips but now we are doing mostly overnights, especially in Dallas. So we are basically operating as a regional now except we make less than 1/4 of what they make. If you are between 1000 and 1500 hours you’re better off staying a CFI because you will get your 1500 hours quicker and you honestly will make more money depending on where you work. JSX needs to make a lot of changes.

The right seat does create value for low time people, but it’s still the same job. The pay shouldn’t be this bad. I certainly believe it should be much better for both seats. Supposed lifers here have been moving on. In LAS, we do not overnight at all. DAL overnights a lot but that should slow down after the FL bases open.

Overnights vary depending on your preference. Probably atleast 1-5 overnights a month. And agreed on the FO pay and the lack of pay overall. They need to retain the good pilot they have and at the moment seem to have no urgency in increasing pay hence why many pilots are on their way out.

As of about a month ago Envoy etc. started offering CJOs with no interview. Frontier's newest class has <1000 hour pilots. Applicant pools are drying up. That being said I've had nothing but great experiences working and flying with the people here and can only hope the impending retention gets fixed sooner rather than later. For being the "world's most loved carrier" we shouldn't be scraping the bottom of the market for pay and the talent it attracts.
