AMF EMB Bases and Upgrades

What are the AMF EMB Bases? How do the upgrades work at AMF? Do the most senior pilots get to bid on any base and any plane or does seniority go base by base? How long would you guess to be PIC on the EMB?

Thanks in advance.

AMF EMB Bases

Fedex Dreamer,

AMF EMB bases are Santa Maria, CA (SMX), Addison, TX (ADS), Dallas, TX (DFW), and Charlottesville, VA (CHO). We have about 7 BROs and looking to get more.
As for PIC, it all depends on how long the Captains decide to stay around. Pretty much any pilot in the company can bid for a base or route just the most senior person who bids it will get it.

The Bro's are ok. Keep in mind that 99 Captain and Bro FO have the same pay scale. Personally, I would choose the turbine PIC.

PIC on the Bro

Do you need to be a FO on the Bro before you can be the PIC?

Typically yes, I have never seen them need BRO Captains off the street. It is always for an FO position.

What if you're already with the company? For instance, if I'm already a BE99 PIC with AMF, can I go strait to PIC on the Bro?

If you got in at AMF then everything gets posted to the company before it goes to the street. As an AMF pilot you can submit your bid. One of my colleagues (metro cpt) just got a TX BRO CPT position.

Any 99's in Texas? If so, hows the turnover?

Yes, I believe there are five BROs in Texas. One or two of them are outstations (ADS and AMA I believe) and the others are based in DFW. As for the turnover, the FOs usually stay until the Captain leaves so they can get the left seat. Some of the BRO captains have been here awhile. AMF is still looking for a BRO FO for Charlottesville, VA (CHO)
