Jet Edge

Recruiting is busy, and as long as we continue to expand the fleet, that should continue. Initially they were struggling to fill seats, but they revised the pay scales and that seemed to solve things. However, there are rumors that they are contemplating a Net Jets style pay scale which would be a pay cut for most of their newer captains and FOs. Longevity numbers on the larger cabin class aircraft look pretty lucrative though. It'll be interesting to see where it ends up. Bottom line, they are serious about growth, talent acquisition & retention, and there are a lot of smart people crunching the numbers to make that happen. Hopefully they learned their lessons at XO, and won't make the same mistakes here.

First let me preface this by saying things are very much in flux right now with this organization. VistJet just purchased us and if recent history is an indication of things to come, I would anticipate our compensation to change as with many other aspects of the business.
JetSelect was purchased by Jet Edge quite a while ago, but Jet Select has continued to operate under our certificate with our FOM/OpSpecs. This is likely to change with Vista buying up all of the certificates under the Jet Edge and XO brands.
No PTO or Sick time, but training has historically been scheduled on work days, not on days off. Rumor is that might change, as the Vista model is different. All rumors though.

That position was filled late last year. No openings currently, in fact with all the various certificates being merged into the VistaJet brand, there are numerous redundancies so I wouldn't anticipate any vacancies in the foreseeable future. Still hiring pilots thought, that will continue.

All I can say is that I hope JE’ s executive leadership learns from and is able to prevent what is happening at their sister companies from happening to them. I really hope I’m wrong and I don't want to come across as a pessimist, but what’s going on at XO is a window into the future if your executive leadership isn’t careful.

Vista took a wrecking ball to XO’s culture..
In a nutshell, XO was at the pinnacle of the non-Netjets Part 135 world, with a fantastic pilot group who enjoyed good pay and benefits, a super, employee-friendly corporate culture , and happy passengers. Pilots were waiting to get on there like fanboys standing outside of the Apple Store on a new iPhone launch day. Then, they got acquired by Malta-owned VistaJet, who took a wrecking ball to XO’s corporate culture and closed their KMCC operation and moved to FXE, turning them into another “South Florida Part 135 Operation”.. =(…. IMHO.
