Default Air Methods FW Regional Relief Pilots?

Anybody have any insight into the schedule/QOL of Air Methods' FW Regional Relief pilots?

If it makes a difference this would be a home-based Relief position in California.

Thanks.

Generally float in the specific region to fill in various needs at the regional managers option...covering sick, vac, leave, test flights etc. Usually 7on7off....but xtra pay doesn't come till you meet the quota of shifts or hrs/year. Travel expenses are covered, but not sure if those hrs count towards the total as you are salary. Position is pretty loosely defined so it could be really good or really bad depending on the location, manager, aircraft, distance between bases, etc....

Roger that and thanks!

One more question are your travel days included in the 7 on?

I've talked with operators that have you travel outside of your 7 on, which, while you get paid extra, cuts into your 7 off...

Was told that travel days aren't part of the 7 days because you need to be in position to cover the whole shift. At least that's what it was for the relief Helo positions. Could be wrong about the FW side though.

Thanks, I have a feeling that is likely the way it will be on the FW side as well.

Can anyone give a description on their operation and basic requirements?
It sounds like something I may be interested in.

Why are interested ?
I believe its the only EMS company with a union, one which was able to "achieve" the lowest pay in the EMS sector , not only this but they have the worst schedule. 9 ON /5 OFF ( you commute on your days off) vs 7/7 or 14/14 elsewhere.
