Wow. Really hurting themselves with the current pilot group. Won’t allow any movement with current pilots, but hire right around them. Not a good look.

Anybody know what the SA-227 lidar survey position pays and why do they only do the lidar surveys at night? I noticed that they have dropped the mins over time from 2500tt to 1200tt.

Default Wheels Up Partners with ATP Flight School

Wheels Up Partners with ATP for Pilots

Wheels Up will expand its pipeline of pilots through a new agreement with ATP Flight School. The hiring partnership enables Wheels Up to interview flight instructors at 1,000 hours total time. Successful candidates will receive a conditional job offer and, at 1,200 hours, they can transition to Wheels Up as Beechcraft King Air 350, Cessna Citation CJ3, or Beechjet 400 first officers.

“With demand for professional pilots at peak levels, ATP is committed and excited to work with our airline and corporate aviation partners to develop scalable pilot hiring solutions,” said ATP marketing director Michael Arnold. “We’re proud to partner with Wheels Up and bring this opportunity to our graduates, providing them with yet another accelerated pathway to quickly establish their career at a leading carrier.”

ATP’s airline career pilot program offers the instruction and certification students need to become professional pilots through a fixed cost and accelerated timeline. In the past 12 months, ATP has placed more than 1,250 pilots with airlines and corporate operators.

My take is that they're still awfully disjointed running with multiple certificates & seperate management for them. If anyone inside can speak to specific fleet/hiring/schedule issues that would help🤷‍♂️

Wheels Up 2nd quarter revenues grew 49% over 2Q 2021, however their losses also grew from $63.8M to $92.7M. They attributed higher losses to "increased operating costs, supply constraints, and equity-based compensation expenses (whatever that is).

Regarding the King Air 350 FO position, can anyone explain the training provided? Is it a type rating with PIC? SIC?

unless something has changed, it’s a PIC type. It’s done as a crew, so you have an SIC required limitation on the type.
