135 Operators that cover cost of ATP-CTP?
I have been thinking of taking the CTP course, on my own dime, and possibly building turbine time via 135 (cargo).
Are there any outfits that will pay for the CTP course? Empire? Ameriflight? Alpine? MAC? |

A lot of the small 135 carriers do not operate aircraft that require an ATP. Only those that do, may pay for it. Greater than 12,500lb MGTOW, and or turbojet.

Cape Air and Boutique might, just guessing though. They do require the ATP, but it’s not cargo either.

Are there any outfits that will pay for the CTP course? Empire? Ameriflight? Alpine? MAC? Do your have the ATP hour requirements? If not (No) you will be an SIC “insurance required pilot” and can build time that way. If you do hold the requirements for an ATP then very good chance they will pay for it when the right spots opened up. Do you only want to fly part 135 Cargo? Or is part 135 charter acceptable? If your ok flying Pax 135 almost all companies will pay for the course with a training contract/ Note contract for 1-2 years as collateral for paying for it. |

no ATP requirement @ Boutique, unless on the King Air. They have a hefty contract assigned to this if they pay for it, and typically only upgrade from within to the King Air for very limited spots based on seniority. I’d encourage anyone to think long and hard before heading to that operation however. See the Boutique thread for the latest info.
Thanks for the info. Seems like some major movement is going to happen there soon. |
