Key Lime Air

Does anyone here know anything about Key Lime Air? Pros/Cons....good/bad.....anything??

Stay Away!!!!

PFT = bad Key lime has a habit of killing people also. Do a search under Key Lime on here as well as jetcareers.com, Doug Taylor's site. You'll get some good reading.

If your looking to build time, Gulfstream International Airlines from what I hear is about to axe thier PFT program (hurtin really bad for F.O's right now) Also Skyway Enterprises out of KISM, from what I was told, the Orlando FSDO says they currently meet all aplicable regulations.

They do offer the pay for training thing, but if you meet the flight time requirements then you get hired on as an actual paid employee without paying anything. Now I am not trying to say that I feel they are a good company...just getting all of the info out there.

Whenever there name comes up everybody here seems to jump to there pay for training program. Beleive it or not the are hiring captains and first officers within 100 or so hours of 135 minimums. if you are hired below 135 minimums as a first officer you will fly as a first officer until you have the 135 minimums then they will quickly upgrade you to capatain in either a C- 404 or a navajo. If you have the time they are also hiring street captains for Metroliners.

I am sure you will here everything bad aout them on this site and nothing good. From what I have heard in the past they use to do a lot things wrong. This is why there reputation is so bad. In the last couple of years thety have changed a lot. They finaly realized that the way they were operating would not alow them to grow as a profesional company. Luckily they decided to make changes.

the other thing you will hear a lot about is the schedule and pay. Ill admit at times the schedule sucks but is is freight. MOst freight companies will have similar schedules. As for pay starting off as a captain in as navajo or c 404 you will make more than you would at just about any regional airline. If you start in a metroliner you will make a lot more.

Good gamble with your life and limb, especially when its pay as you go training.

Is that stuff really any more dangerous then flight instructing in the Phoenix metro area with a million other light aircraft buzzing around trying to have a midair collision with me?

What a difference 2 years makes.

I've looked through the other threads (2) about this, but can't find any definite info, aside from "stay away." I can keep instructing for now, but I can't afford another winter in Michigan teaching in an airplane that can't fly in ice. Can anyone post specific details about what's wrong with Key Lime? I've heard so far:

Maint. Issues (Details please?)
"Fly or Fired" mentality (Can anyone confirm/deny?)
And most importantly, that they've changed for the better recently. Is this true?
