Ameriflight sked
Can someone who is with AMF give me a typical sked for you guys? I am looking to commute to DFW so I want to get a feel for how much I will be gone. Also, any insight on the upgrade time at that base would be appreciated.

There is plenty of gouge around if ya do a search.
AMF is mostly IFR hand flying at night. With something like 6 mo/yr to the upgrade. Nice way to get your pilot skills sharpened and quick turbo PIC. |
How accurate is the pay breakdown on APC for Am-flight? I am looking specifically at the B-1900 Captain positions. Basically, how much would you take home per month after working Monday through Friday including Per Diem and such?

AMF is a great company to start out in. The typical schedule is M-F early morning and back late evenings with hotels provided at the layovers. This is typical for the UPS and DHL side. This is not easy to commute to and from so if you plan on comming to AMF, plan to live in base.
Also unless your on TDY, then there is no per diem. For 1900 pay, plan on approx 950 every paycheck take home. Of course you do get extra for extra flights, and also the yearly turbine retention bonus. I would say 40K a year. APC payscale is accurate |
thats about right
$960 is about what I get for a paycheck after taxes every two weeks flying with a similar company to AMF, as a Beech 99 pilot.

I kinda doubt it. Let's say he grosses 1500 every two weeks, that would be 36K a year, which sounds about right. 950 take home every week is what he SHOULD be making, though. Those Amflight guys need a union.

first year pay
a B99 pilot makes 12.50 per unit (roughly 26k a year)
a 1900 or metro pilot makes 19.45 per unit (roughly 40k a year) Basically you are guaranteed 40 units per week which is what makes it somewhat like salary, but there are ways to get more units (wouldn't count on it though). Save yourself the trouble, don't come to Ameriflight. Don't support a management team that refuses to pay close to industry average and threatens to hunt down every person that leaves before there integrity agreement is up. If you do insist on coming here for turbine pic, please remember that most of the runs are low time, long wait. Around 2 hrs a day flt and 10 hrs sit. The higher time runs require several years of seniority. |
