It's happening.

I am in AMF ground school right now, and we were told that we " would be paid more than a regional fo, but we can't tell you anything until next week."

Any word on turbine pay increases?

With the increase in regional hiring, and them basically snatching up all the would-be AMF'ers, how is that affecting pilot recruitment at AMF? When I first started teaching, my fellow CFI's were working their butts off just to reach 135 mins to go AMF, AIRPAC, or AeroFlight. Now, somebody typically teacher for a year, doesn't get their CFII or MEI, flies the twin in their off time, and is off to a regional carrier. That must sting AMF's recruitment a bit.

28k?!?! Can you guys survive on that pay?

The best paid regional FO's make >$50K, the worst make $19K...that's a pretty wide range.

Recruitment is slightly down and yet at the same time we have a class of 22 going through Basic Indoc this week. AMF still has the ability for someone to get turbine PIC time, maybe one or two type ratings, and totally bypass the regionals and apply directly to a major or national carrier or go the corporate/charter route and make more money than they would at a regional.
