My HR /Tech went great. My sim ride sucked.

TheFly 07-17-2009 06:41 AM

Was anyone asked what class date they wanted in the interview? What about base options?

Classed scheduled for July, August, September, and maybe November. I was asked when I would be available. I was asked my base preference on the phone interview. PDX, OAK, few in PHX. How did your interview go?

TheFly 07-17-2009 06:49 AM

I thought it went well. The sim very touchy, but still easy. I guess it's all about how THEY thought it went. Did you get any feedback on your sim session or interview? I got the good 'ole, "I can't give you any feedback" for the sim session. Their staff made it a very warm and pleasant experience, but it was very difficult to read them as far as telling if they were satisfied with my performance. I guess we'll be waiting.....

Spoilers 07-17-2009 06:55 AM

When I interviewed a few weeks ago, I was told right now new-hire classes are scheduled for July 27, August 24 and September 21. Just FYI, it took about a week or so for me to hear something. The final decision whether you will get hired or not still comes from Burbank. Good Luck to everyone!

PS: If you are furloughed 121 and interviewed, please let us know if you got hired or not!

Spoilers, thanks again for all your help!

FlyingPirate 07-17-2009 08:07 AM

Yeah thanks again for the gouge Spoilers! Sorry you didn't get the job though.

My interview went fairly well. I thought everyone there was great and it was good to see a company that is actually organized and knows whats going on, unlike my current employer.

I still don't understand why people are saying they are looking to hire into PHX. The two interviewers I had both said they really were looking to fill PDX some in OAK and PHX wasn't even an option.

Are they hiring into PHX or not?

Nope no feedback.

You could tell a little on the Tech/HR by there facial expressions.

The sim is easy to judge. You can tell if you did good or not by how the approaches turned out.

The only time I heard pheonix mentioned was on my phone interview. Not sure if there hiring into PHX or not.

The videos have been gone for over a year.

trim4altitude 07-21-2009 09:12 AM

Got the good news yesterday around 4. From what I experienced with during the interview, it seems like a great company.

Ex-121er:cool:

Nooooooooooooooo..... that was part of the AMF lore. Haslet and Soulihan. Next thing you are going to tell me is Bob doesn't teach indoc?

OperatorError 07-21-2009 02:47 PM

Does anyone that was interviewed have less than ATP mins? APC is only showing 1180TT and COMM, website indicates ATP mins.

Its definently not ATP mins. Ameriflight's website says 1200 TT

OperatorError 07-21-2009 04:31 PM

Whoops, I meant 135, nevermind. Why would APC only have 1180 TT as minimums. I think it's pretty obvious they need 135 mins.

Maybe cause they babysit you for 20 hrs anyway, so by then you'll be to 1200 TT?

OperatorError 07-21-2009 04:53 PM

Do any of you guys have dual given time or know if they even consider CFI's?

(from their website)

"By the way, sitting in the right seat giving "CFII" dual won't keep you current!"

and

"Be honest with us about your flight experience. Don't claim time in airplanes where you sat in the right seat and didn't touch anything"

Friend of mine got hired with less than 1200 Hrs.

FYI, they are putting people in a hiring pool now. I know somone who got hired from the PHX interviews, but got put in a pool and was told maybe a class in Nov. or Dec. if pilots are needed.

One of the people who interviewed when I was there was an MEI and had been CFI'ing for 3 years... no other job experience.

Not sure if this person was hired or not.

propjunkie 07-22-2009 03:56 AM

I think they are saying that someone who hasnt actually flown an instrument approach in 6 months and only sat in the right seat wont be instrument proficient enough to pass the sim evaluation.

"Be honest with us about your flight experience. Don't claim time in airplanes where you sat in the right seat and didn't touch anything"

They just dont want to see a private pilot that sits in the right seat of his buddies king air logs all the time while he thinks hes flying.

The Hazlet Be99 tapes are gone, not the indoc ones. They were replaced because they were outdated and had a lot of superfluous information in them.
