Any word of more new hire classes after April?

All Brasilia vacancies have been filled at last check.

I talked to the director of training the other day and she said that they are "planning a class a month till the end of the year"...

That's good news! I just don't feel ready and proficient right now to even interview. I haven't flown a piston airplane in 2 years, but that is changing hopefully over the next few weeks as Im looking to get my ATP in a Seneca and get instrument proficient again on steam gauges. Not expecting a recall, so I'm looking at different flying options now. Hopefully AMF will continue to hire and have openings along the West coast...

Possibly Puerto Rico ops but otherwise no more emb120 spots for a while from what I was told...

The farthest I have ever heard an aircraft cleared, was when I was flying nights between BUR and OAK and as I was departing BUR and on LA Center's freq over Gorman VOR there would be an Aer Lingus flight and I heard,

"Shamrock XX, cleared direct Dublin"

Not doubting the validity of what you heard, but theres no way LA center can "clear" a flight over the Atlantic Ocean. You have to obtain oceanic clearance from Gander on VHF, sometimes through Moncton Center, or HF. Maybe he was kidding or "Dublin" ironically could have been a waypoint on the flight plan...hmmm?:D

Planned attrition or expansion?

What are the chances for BUR and CVG right now

You are correct, I was going off freq as I heard the transmission so I didn't get to hear the "response" from Shamrock. I have heard LA Center Controllers clear JetBlue direct Ft. Lauderdale from over So Cal airspace, they of course got probably put back on route down the line somewhere...
