Any half way decent company starts you at full benefits day 1, full salary day 1.
Even regionals give you minimum guarantee from day 1. It's a shame that AMF can't get their act together. It wouldn't be a bad place to work if they would pay a fair wage and staff the place correctly.

Well, it is sad, because you have people in management positions that don't see it that way. Just the statement "You are fully paid, just not what JetLife thinks you should" is a perfect sight picture into the mentality of that place, and how it will never change.

frmrbuffdrvr, when does the clock start on when you can get medical benefits. Is it 90 days from DOH or the day you pass your checkride?

On Sept 23rd I got an email from the training department stating that all trainees now get 40 units a week. Even if it's 40 units an hour of 7 bucks an hour, it's an improvement of some sorts.

Even with the raise we aren't paid what we deserve. It costs them more in the long run as pilots wind up not respecting the company. A pilot can do all kinds of things to benefit themselves at the company's cost.

Say what you will but for all the effort and time I put in I should be able to at least provide the essentials of food and shelter for my family on AMF pay alone, but unfortunately it isn't so.

That's a good start.

If it was up to fmrbuffdrvr everyone would be paid in grey AMF shirts.

$25 bucks. It was better than wearing that white one. Now I wear neither. Not investing $25 back into this job.

Current training pay for E120 FO/PA31/BE99 is $9.00/unit. BE1900/SA227 is $10.58 and E120 CA is $12.50.

And it isn't as much as I think anyone should be paid Ted,
You have be at a disadvantage, sir, as you seem to know who I am yet remain anonymous to me.

It isn't just AMF management. It's business in general. See my last response on this post below.

frmrbuffdrvr, when does the clock start on when you can get medical benefits. Is it 90 days from DOH or the day you pass your checkride?
It used to be 90 days from DOH. I checked with HR and was told you become eligible the first day of the second continuous calendar month after you are hired. So if someone is hired in November, they would have to work the full calendar month of December and would be eligible the first of January. (I know, it's confusing to me too.)

I didn't know about the change to 40 units when I did my previous post. But that is correct.

Even with the raise we aren't paid what we deserve.
I have never had a job in my life where I was paid what I ultimately thought I deserved. But I was paid what the job was worth. And that is what companies pay for all employees. What the job is worth. And the recent pay raises show that, with the shortage of pilots, the job is becoming more valuable if the company wants to stay in business.

That's reality.
