utedrummer,

Did you fly at AMF? If he goes to the FSDO what do you think they are going to tell him? Don't let your experiences or stories you've heard speak for an entire company.

Do you guys file a new flight plan each time you fly, or since you do the same route a lot, does the company have candid routes for you to file?

I have done my research! I've read various threads on various message boards, I've talked to people that have worked there 5 years ago, 2 years ago, currently work there, and people currently in training. Some of them hated it and left as soon as their contract was up, some of them loved it and stayed for several years. I'm only interviewing in SLC, because it is the closest base to where I live. I can always make a decision after the interview. Also, if you have been out of a job for close to 6 months, you can't be picky and turn down interviews because of something you read on APC where your sisters ex-boyfriends Dad, his cousin's dog walker's brother used to work there back in 1989 and he said that one time in flight, the entire freaking wing fell off.

FYI: Ameriflight will be conducting in-person interviews in PHX on July 15, 2009, but you will need an invitation and have been selected for an interview. Also, when I filled out the online application many moons ago, I had the same problems, but one day it worked.

Yeah, I was going to say, there is probably no way you could get an SLC base to start with at Ameriflight. Lately they've been hiring to PHX, OAK, and PDX. They seem to be sending a lot to PDX.

Yeah, no hiring into SLC anytime soon. I heard SLC is turbine base only? From what I've been told from the guys in Burbank is they are filling PA-31 for PDX and OAK, but other place might become available, such as PHX. I wouldn't mind any of these places, and I'm willing to move. Gotta be willing to re-locate as a pilot...

I was under the impression that we won't be hearing from them for interview slots until the deadline is up on the 7th of July.
