Kalitta Air Charters Info
http://www.kalittacharters.com/2007Site/careers.htm
Anyone know anything about how these guys pay dispatchers? I am looking at moving home to Michigan and was thinking of getting my Dispatchers License. I think that this would be a good learning opportunity, especially since you don't need your license. I have my PPL, Instrument, and am finishing my COM so I know a bit about what I would be doing. Any info such as pay, QOL etc is apreciated.

Dispatchers are actually "Flight Followers" and do not have a clue about flight operations as a whole. They mainly book trips, set up fuel at your stops and maybe make hotel reservations. Also know the dimensions of the A/C to compare it with the freight load being put on.
In other words they are sales people who try to book as many trips as possible, to make the company money.
As per Far 135 Regs (as you already said) do not require a DX license. Hence, can't make any Flight operational decisions.
But love being called "Dispatchers"
Pay, I have heard, is actually pretty decent for them. (Meaning for Flight Followers, regardless of the company)
QOL: I am assuming the regular 8 or 10 hr shifts, 4/5 days a week. (Not Sure)
Also at KYIP you got, USA Jet, which is a pretty decent company. So might want to look into them also.
Hope this helps!

Kallitta runs a 135 passenger ops, mainly Ambo flights, and two freight divisions
The other two are 121 I believe
Kallita Air(747's!)
Kalitta Charters II(727 and a DC9)
