Are you sure your statement was for the FAA? Could it have been for the insurance company or some internal company document to have on hand if something came of it? You had no control over the prop governor failure. Nor did you have control over your landing gear issue. You made the comment that you made a safe landing as a result of these two incidents. I would say it's a good thing when you have an airplane break and you make it back without screwing up. Incidents you have to explain are gear up landings, busted altitudes, runway incursions, etc. IMHO If the machine breaks through no fault of your own, and you handle it with success, then you did your job. I will spot you a couple tires to protect the airframe. |

They ask if you have had any incidents and then ask if so to explain. If you have had a few incidents where you acted cool and calm and resolved the situation in a safe manner you shouldnt worry about them.
