Received this email a few days ago....think they are desperate for pilots??
Training Pay: Trainees receive a check for $500.00 at the beginning of training, another check for $500.00 two weeks later. Upon successful completion of the initial checkride, pilots receive a sign-on bonus and go to the appropriate full-time pay scale. Benefits occur within 30 days or less after successful completion of the initial checkride. Pay Scale: Prop SIC salary is now 16K minimum, average is 22K. (For pilots with less than 1200 hours in the paid time-building program) $1500.00 SIGN-ON Bonus upon successful completion of the initial prop SIC checkride. Prop PIC salary is now 28K minimum, average is 39K.$3000.00 SIGN-ON Bonus upon successful completion of the initial prop PIC checkride. Lear F/O salary is now 38K minimum, average is 44K.$5000.00 SIGN-ON Bonus upon successful completion of the initial Jet SIC checkride. Note: Requires additional 12 month commitment. Lear PIC salary is now 49K minimum, average is 55K.$5000.00 SIGN-ON Bonus upon successful completion of the initial Jet PIC checkride. Note: Requires additional 12 month commitment. |

I can tell you that the numbers posted previously are currently accurate. As for the "averages" I'm not quite sure, but the initial incentives and sign on bonuses are completely accurate. |
Is Airnet still hiring? How is things over there? Are there bases in the Northeast?

They are currently interviewing. However, it is only into a pool right now. You will receive a class date much earlier if you go in as a PIC as opposed to the SIC route.

To answer your question, about half the guys make above average, and about half make below average. |
What they really should be desperate for is cargo. Rode from Love-St.Louis-Columbus-St.Louis-Memphis-Love and could have put all the cargo in my Comanche. I think that's a little more than a "transition phase".

Company is based at LCK, Columbus, Ohio. One class started today, 6 guys I believe. No other classes on the schedule right now. If you are coming to AirNet, plan on living on the minimum. Everything else is gravy. 5th nights come and go, runs change and so on. |
Yes it does. Unless you own your own plane like I do then YOU have no idea what it costs to operate. There is no way to justify Jet A on that length of trip for 100 pounds of cargo.

Maybe it's contract work? Flat rate regardless of weight? I have no idea, just guessing. |
Or maybe the customer is paying to have their work moved quickly.

Often times an entire aircraft is chartered for one tiny box, any extra work is just pure profit. Othere runs are indeed running crazy thin. Most of those are still flat rate, but probably won't be around much longer unless new work can be added to supplement income. Don't judge the profitablity of a run entirely on weight though. Some of the heaviest runs sometimes get canceled while others run with almost nothing for years. You just never know.

I've heard our bank customers have contracts that pay whether theres 1 lb., or 500 lbs. I dont know what the agreement is with some of our express customers.

So for any airnet flyer out there: around what does a typical lear PIC with around 7-8 years on property average? Just asking just in case one were to find themselves there for a long while. |

If you got hired today and somehow made to Lear PIC in three years and then stayed here for another 4 years your yearly minimum pay would be about 59K. I'd say you could probably tag another (average) 5-8K to that in "overtime". Unfortunately our pay structure (and I use the term loosely) here at AirNet isn't very good and not an incentive to stay for more than it takes you to build 1000 hours of Lear PIC time and then leave. |
