Cape Air--Guam Question.

Myself and a fellow ATR pilot (both FOs for AE) have been kicking around this idea of applying to Cape Air after getting our ATPs and trying to land a captain position flying the ATR42 out of Guam.

First of all, would Cape Air hire an ATR captain of the street?

If so, what would be the requirements?

If not, what would be the requirements to get a captain position? So many months (years??) of F/O time?

How are living conditions in Guam?

How many hours of flight time do the Guam pilots get in a month?

Any other insight on the operation there would be much appreciated.

Sebastian,

It seems like they go through periods of need and long periods of no need for new pilots for the ATRs (we only have two '42s). My advice would be to just contact them via the website and inquire. Gene Smith, the pilot recruiter is a great guy and he'll give it to you straight. What I will tell you is its about the best company you may ever work for and I have nothing but thumbs-up for the whole operation.
