Airnet vs. Ameriflight

Default Airnet vs. Ameriflight

Which is a better company to work for? Anyone have any input?

I do not know about Airnet, but I have been at AMF for about 7 months. I will probably move on when my year is up. All in all it has been pretty good here based upon the management in the Flight Department. They were all very supportive and you really felt "protected". Time will tell if that will change with so many of the leadership leaving. With BIL and JAN closing not sure what that will mean either. It seems AMF is more diversified than Airnet. They gave a raise to some of the pilots about four months ago. I feel I am a much better pilot for having worked at Ameriflight. It was a good start to my career and I would recommend it to anyone getting started building time.

Haven't heard anything bad about Airnet. I've flown with two guys (NetJets) who came from Airnet, they said "it wasn't a bad job, prety good, not a career job, but it wasn't bad".

I don't know much about AMF, but the little I have read and heard is that for the most part it is a good company to work for.

Same goes for AirNet. There is always "issues" and room for improvements. For a 135 operator that flies freight at night I don't think you will find much better.

In the end it all boils down to what you want out it! Without more information I can't add much to what already wrote.

Does AMF have some sort of training contract or require you to stay a certain length of time??

AMF makes you sign a "gentlemen's agreement" that you promise to stay at least one year. We have a few who don't honor it and AMF puts in their PRIA a "not eligible for re-hire".

Kind of a nice way of putting it. Definately makes you explain what happened, whether or not it's warrented or not(who's going to turn down a once in a lifetime opportunity in some cases also?)

I've worked at airnet for 5 months now. So far it hasn't been too bad. Basically everything has been exactly as advertised by their pilot recruitment people. They're offering a $3000 bonus if you've got your 1200 and you make it through training. That also constitutes a year commitment however. Some take it and some don't it just depends on what you want. Other than that the flying is cool. The maintenence culture is excellent. Currently it takes a year to a year and a half to get to the Lear another 6mo to a year to uprgrade in that. The money isn't terrible. I don't no much about AMF so I wouldn't say one is better than the other but I'd suggest applying at airnet and going to the interview. Its an enjoyable experience and you'll learn a lot about the company. Either way good luck

You have a pretty good chance of getting in a lear if you come to Airnet..... Other than that I don't think it really matters beyond if you have a specific base in mind.

Do any Airnet guys know where the Barons and Chieftans are based? Is the usual transistion from the twins to the Lear or do you have to do time in the Caravan too? Looking forward to June when this job is done, and trying to decide where I want to go next. Thanks
