navi,

Hotel provided during training. After that you're on your own. Boston is expensive year round. Rutland is the closest airport for Killington. I'd guess winter rentals up there will be as well. Seasonal rentals on cape are pricey. Fortunately for you it gets pretty quiet here after the kids go back to school. Check craigslist for an idea of what's available. The internal company site now has a page for roommates/rentals. Best bet for singles is a roommate situation. Oh, yeah. I went off cape last week and found gas 50 cents cheaper than what we're paying around here. At least its cheaper than Nantucket!

FO's can start flying mail at 1200 hours between Hyannis and Nantucket to build PIC time and help satisfy whatever requirements are left before getting the ATP

I have about 1350 total time, but I don't want to get stuck being a FO for a long time. Will they make you a captain once you get the minimums to be a captain?

I'm an FO at my company right now and it really sucks. Some people are kinda made to be FO's, but I am most definitely not. The problem is my company right now needs captains, but they arent going to upgrade me because its much easier to find a new street captain, rather than find someone to replace me as a FO. The street captains they're hiring have less time that I do right now.

I just don't want to get into another situation like this again.

FO's upgrade when the get their ATP and company PIC check ride, which usually at happens the same time -I'm assuming your talking about the C-402.
