I'm an FO at my company right now and it really sucks. Some people are kinda made to be FO's, but I am most definitely not. The problem is my company right now needs captains, but they arent going to upgrade me because its much easier to find a new street captain, rather than find someone to replace me as a FO. The street captains they're hiring have less time that I do right now.

I just don't want to get into another situation like this again.

1350 TT? They are hiring street captains with less time than that? How? they need 1500 TT and at least 250PIC for an ATP... check your info again... an error someplace there is...

Your maturity level is showing with this kind of impatience. With 1350TT you are lucky to be where you are. Just a few years ago, a regional airline would not even look at you without 3,000+ Total Time. Stop being ungrateful for the opportunites that have been placed before you.

Right now I work for a 135 company, they hire captains at 1200TT. I am impatient because FO's here only make $1000 a month. Cost of living here is very, very low, so I'm able to live, but the main reason I want to upgrade is so I can start eating meals that consist of something other than ramen noodles.

They led me to believe I'd upgrade as soon as I got 1200, and my salary would double. But because of high gas prices and the on demand industry becoming what it is, here it is 8 months after reaching 1200 and I'm still an FO. I would have taken a better paying job if I had known I'd be stuck with this pay for so long.

asdf,

At Cape Air FO's make $9 a duty hour. Mail pilots make about $12 a duty hour, you upgrade at 135 freight mins. Captains make $15 a duty hour to start, and you upgrade at ATP mins. Add about a buck a year to Captain pay for longevity. Captains get a $3 override in the Caribbean.

Cost of living is not low in any of Cape Air's domiciles. Perhaps Albany or upstate NY is a bit less pricey than BOS, HYA and the Islands. But not cheap.

Have any of you guys received detailed instructions on where to go once we get to HYA? I'm looking at getting there on the 21st, and I haven't heard anything specific. I know there was a packet they were sending me here in Houston, but I think it blew away in the storm somewhere.

Hey guys quick question, I don't know a whole lot about Cape Air yet but a couple things come to mind....is BOS possible to hold right away or is it senior? And if available, is it available year-round or do they ship you to the carribean during the winter? Thanks!
